Nicole Atwater currently serves as the Senior Communications Strategist at Burns & McDonnell, a Fortune 100 company located in Kansas City, Missouri. She previously served as the Executive Director of People to People International, an international non-profit founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. She holds a Bachelors in Strategic Communications and Journalism from Plattsburgh State University, a Master of Arts in Diplomacy from Norwich University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kansas.
She has participated for many years in political administrations, working within Ambassador Sam Brownback’s gubernatorial administration as well as Governor Colyer’s administration. She volunteered with the Leavenworth County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner and walked for several local candidates.
She lives in Overland Park, Kansas with her husband, Merrill Atwater and their children; John, Kipper, Elizabeth and David. She volunteers with her local school districts, serving as an official STEM mentor and on the PTO.
