Public Biography

Sharon moved to Kansas from Casper, Wyoming in 2015.  Retiring from a career in insurance in Wyoming and Colorado.  Her husband is a native Kansas “cowboy” and they were going to retire in Carlton, living in the home that has been in his family since the early 1900’s. Retirement has not happened, she loves being involved and “staying connected” is her passion. Sharon comes from Kansas stock…her great great grandparents homesteaded in the Hiawatha area after the Civil War.   Sharon has enjoyed successful careers in the insurance industry as well as advertising, nonprofits and the hospitality sectors.   She is a past president of the Sparks, Nevada Chamber of Commerce and has served on numerous Boards of Directors for many non-profit and community service organizations.

Sharon is a native of the central valley of California, growing up in a small farming community of Chowchilla, attending college in Fresno and has lived in  5 states; California, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming and Kansas.  She loves being involved in her communities, working to make them the best they can be for the future generations and especially the senior population. She and her husband have 4 grown children and 10 grandchildren, spread out in Kansas, Wisconsin, Colorado and California.

She currently is the chairperson for the Dickinson County Senior Network; , does marketing/events for Enterprise Estates Nursing Home and does sales – Part time for The Homewood Suites – Hilton in Salina.
