Marcia Brungardt, a lifelong Wichitan, graduated from Kansas Newman College, now Newman University, in Wichita, Kansas, with a BS in accounting. Marcia became a Certified Public Accountant and worked in public accounting for ten years. She then became the Tax Manager at Raytheon Aircraft Company, the largest subsidiary of Raytheon Company, where she was the ERP Business Manager for the SAP software installation team, a business manager on the Beechcraft Premier I research and development program and a business manager in the IT Division. She is currently the Tax Manager of Slawson Companies, Inc. in Wichita where she is responsible for all tax matters including tax audits and tax planning. Marcia has an extensive background in financial processes, project management, tax, budgeting, auditing and financial analysis.

Marcia married her high school sweetheart, Steven. This past summer, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Marcia and Steve have three married children: Colette Wellman, a stage manager for the Philadelphia Ballet company, Seth, a small business owner and Sean, an architect. Marcia’s favorite activity is spending 􀆟me with her three small grandchildren, Jonah, Gwyneth and Evelyn. She also enjoys working at her son’s gardening store. She is a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Wichita where she sings in the choir. Marcia is involved in the Sedgwick County Republican Party. She is a precinct committeewoman and is the campaign treasurer for a state representative and a Wichita school board member. She is the current treasurer and past president of Republican Women United and is currently the secretary of the Kansas Federation of Republican Women.
