Donna Rhodes completed her Business Degree in Powell, Wyoming where she met and married her husband of 42 years, Keith Rhodes. They moved from Wyoming to Wichita in 1986. Donna described the move as a culture and scenery shock. They have one adult son, Douglas. Donna worked as an office manager or legal secretary for various companies over the years. She attained progressing management levels with Mary Kay Cosmetics. Volunteering at all levels of schooling as Douglas progressed through was a priority. In June of 2019 Donna finished her employment journey as office manager for Good Grief of Kansas. In 2021, Donna began engaging with Republican and Conservative organizations. She was initially searching for a way to become more informed herself, then to connect others with the issues of the day – to be the informed person others could ask questions. She began attending local city council and school board meetings. Donna is part of two strategic planning committees for the school district. Meeting local and state legislators was the next step of learning more. The leadership skills she developed throughout her working career stood out and were acknowledged as she became more involved with these organizations. She serves as President of the Wichita Pachyderm Club, President and founding organizer of Derby Republican Women, an affiliate of the National Federation of Republican Women. Donna’s involvement with Republican Women on a local club level progressed to the state level. She was Kansas Federation of Republican Women 4th District Director and is slated for KFRW State Secretary. Donna is a Derby Republican precinct committeewoman. She volunteers for GOP campaigns and events, assists the 4th Congressional District Director, serves as a county delegate, and Kansas GOP state delegate alternate. Her organizational skills were once more requested when she agreed to serve as Kansas Representative Leah Howell’s Treasurer.
