| Public Biography | Charlotte Esau currently serves as a State Representative, after winning back the seat in a tough race for House District 14, which covers most of northwest Olathe. She’s a 2022 NCSL Early Childhood Fellow and currently serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Legislative Modernization and is also on Judiciary, Child Welfare and Foster Care, Welfare Reform, the Joint Committee on Child Welfare System Oversight, and was recently appointed to the Attorney General Batterer Intervention Program Advisory Board. In past years she was Vice Chair of Children and Seniors, as well as serving on Redistricting, the Kansas Senior Care Task Force, Transportation and Public Safety Budget, Energy Utilities and Telecommunications, Local Government, and the Governor’s Council on Travel and Tourism. Prior to running for elected office, Charlotte was involved in several Republican grassroots activities, first as a key organizer recruiting hundreds of precinct committee members in Johnson County and later as executive director of a statewide conservative organization. Outside of her political involvement, Charlotte and her husband Keith have raised 5 children and are now the proud grandparents of 4 grandchildren. “I’m excited about the chance to learn more about different parts of our state and the unique challenges they face. By gaining a better understanding of these areas, I can make informed decisions as a public servant. I believe that bringing people together from various backgrounds leads to better solutions.
