Cathy Boote

Public Biography

Cathy Boote has dedicated her life to the education of children. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Wichita State University and her Master’s in Education from Baker University. During the career that she loved, she was honored to receive several awards. KAKE TV surprised her with the KAKE Golden Apple
Award, and the Wichita Public Schools honored her with their Distinguished Classroom Teacher Award. The highlight, however, was being named a semi-finalist for Kansas Teacher of the Year in 2019.

A􀅌er 35 years teaching in the Wichita Public School District, she retired. Following retirement, she helped form Derby Republican Women where she currently serves as Treasurer. She is also active in the state organization, KFRW, and enjoyed attending her first NFRW Biennial Convention in Orlando this year where her relatively new club received a National “Caring for America” award. In 2023, she successfully ran for the Derby Board of Education and currently serves as Vice President of the Board. She dedicates countless hours focused on her passion, the successful education of children. She attributes her success to her undying faith and the support of her husband of 45 years, Ken Boote. Together they have raised two successful daughters who have
given her four delightful granddaughters that bring her great joy!
